The share of operations and go-to-market job postings that mention AI runs from 48% in technology and internet down to 4% in construction. Across 96,328 postings collected between January and July 2026, the gradient is steep, consistent, and tracks a single variable: how much of the industry's work is already made of information rather than physical material.

Horizontal bar chart of AI mention share by industry, from technology and internet at 48% down to construction at 4%.

The two columns move together

The most useful thing in that table is not the AI column on its own — it is how closely it tracks the integration-pain column. Software development leads AI mention at 47.9% and integration pain at 23.9%. IT services and consulting is third on pain at 23.2%. Construction sits at the bottom of both, 4.0% and 6.7%.

The industries most loudly asking for AI are the same ones quietly hiring the most people to connect systems by hand. That is not a coincidence: both are downstream of the same condition, which is having a large number of software systems that need to agree with each other.

The B2B and B2C split

Classifying postings by business-model language in the description:

Segment Postings Mention AI Median salary
B2B context 25,118 37.6% $125,000
B2C context 5,493 19.7% $112,500
Both 2,416 35.3% $122,500
Neither / unclear 63,301 16.2% $100,000

B2B-context postings mention AI at roughly twice the rate of B2C. B2B revenue operations involves more systems, longer cycles, and more handoffs between them — which is exactly the environment where an AI mandate arrives early.

What this measures

This is hiring language, not deployment. An industry with a 48% AI mention rate has not deployed AI in half its operations; it has written AI into half of its operations job postings. The gap between those two things is the subject of the main report: across all industries, 58.5% of AI-mentioning postings name no product and no implementation technology at all.

Industry is self-reported by the employer to the job board, and postings matching neither B2B nor B2C language are excluded from the two-segment comparison rather than assigned a default.

How this was measured

These figures come from Inform Growth's 2026 study of 294,483 job postings, collected from public job boards between January 4 and July 26, 2026, with a collection pause in April and May. Text analysis covers the 96,328 postings in target and GTM-adjacent roles with English descriptions of at least 300 characters. B2B and B2C are classified from description language. Phrase-family statistics use pattern matching over full description text.
